The following are the procedures and policies that the CYO Ministry at St Matthew Catholic Church is enforcing for all practices and games at our facility. This guidance is effective November 1, 2020.
Currently, the State of Texas is under Executive Order GA-32 (https://open.texas.gov/). Under the order, Recreational Youth Sports Programs are permitted to exceed current gathering limits provided that additional safety protocols are followed as outlined in the order.
As an organization, we will continue to do everything reasonability possible to mitigate the risk of transmission of Covid-19. All CYO programs and host facilities are to comply with the following CYO Risk Covid Mitigation Guidelines:
- Comply with current State Executive Order GA-32
- Comply with current City/County Declaration of Public Health Emergency
- Symptom Signage, Temperature Screening and Mask requirement to enter a CYO event
- Social Distancing will be required and your spectator group is not to exceed 10 individuals
- Volleyball/Basketball admittance will be limited, not to exceed 50% of the gyms posted capacity limit.
- Parish/School programs may set smaller guest limits for practices as needed.
- Mask requirement in affect for all with the exception of officials and players actively participating in a game orpractice.
- All facilities must have running water and have hand sanitizer stations readily available
- Disinfecting supplies will be easily accessible for use by volunteers and others by request
- Gate and Concession area must have hand sanitizer visible and available
- Concessions stands will be limited to the sale of drinks and pre-packaged items
- No community water jugs will be provided for the team benches. Players will be allowed to bring their ownwater/sports drink for the event.
- Once game/practice has concluded and the closing prayer has been completed; teams must exit the facility to make room for the next game/practice.
St Matthew Practice Policies
- Temperature checks (99.5 degrees and lower) and masks will be required for entrance into the practice facility.
- Mask requirement is in affect for parents and coaches at ALL times. Young athletes may remove their masks when actively practicing.
- Young athletes who are not actively practicing must put on their mask.
- Only ONE PARENT per practicing athlete will be allowed in the gym.
- We will do our best to stager the start of practice times to prevent everyone from arriving at the same time. Practices will staggered in 5 minute increments. Please do your best to arrive during that 5 minute window. If you get their earlier, we ask that you wait in your car.
- Please use the main entrance to enter into the gym. Exits will be out the side doors (see map below)
- Practices will be exactly 60 minutes. Parents, players, and coaches must exit the facility immediately at the end of their practice time slot.
St Matthew Game Day Facility Policies
- Temperature checks (99.5 degrees and lower) and masks will be required for entrance into the facility.
- Mask requirement is in affect for parents and coaches at ALL times. Young athletes may remove their masks when actively playing.
- Young athletes sitting on the bench must put on their mask.
- Only TWO SPECTATORS per athlete will be allowed in the gym.
- Spectators must socially distance when seated on the bleachers.
- Entrance Fee will be $3 per Adult and $1 per Child. We will only be accepting Credit Card payments. Donations to cover additional COVID fees are greatly appreciated.
- Concession stand will only offer prepackaged drinks and foods. We will only be accepting Credit Card payments.
- Please use the main entrance to enter into the gym. Exits will be out the side doors (see map below)
- Parents, players, and coaches must exit the facility immediately at the end of their game.
ST MATTHEW CYO TAKES THESE POLICIES SERIOUSLY. REPEATED OFFENSES WILL RESULT IN A ZERO-TOLERANCE VIOLATION AND A TWO-WEEK CYO SUSPENSION.
